Brownes Dairy - Craft Renewable Carton
Company:
Country: Australia and New Zealand
Category: Non-Alcoholic Beverages
90% of Australian consumers are concerned about sustainability. In an Australian first, Brownes Dairy with Tetrapak has launched the most environmentally friendly carton available.
The carton is; recyclable in consumer kerbside bins, features Australian ARL labelling, made from renewable plant-based materials which are responsibly sourced, produced with renewable energy, unbleached, and has reduced layers making it lighter weight for efficient transportation. All of this culminates in a 16% reduced carbon footprint vs. regular tetra cartons.
To further demonstrate our commitment to carbon reduction we have partnered with an environmental restoration charity, Trillion Trees. Supporting the Trillion Trees Challenge to restore lands tree by tree, which will sequester carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. 5 trees = 1 tonne carbon dioxide per annum.
The sustainability of these cartons is visually evident on shelf with the unbleached board, easily recognisable on shelf and clearly the most sustainable choice.
Cartons have the lowest impact to climate change of all milk packaging currently available in Australia – up to 5 times less impact than plastic! By switching to plant-based polyethylene material in the cartons, the carbon footprint of this packaging is reduced by 16% over regular milk cartons. The lifecycle of this new carton starts with sustainably sourced materials but then continues in the same vein. The manufacturing plant where Tetra Rex® Craft Plant-Based are produced is powered by 100% renewable electricity. Tetra Pak cartons are transported flat. For what it would take formed plastic bottles 13 trucks to deliver Tetra Pak could do in 1. This reduces fuel use, and in turn the carbon footprint. The ARL logo and URL link are featured on the side of pack to communicate kerbside recyclability.
