This package contains six cans of YEBISU beer as a gift for when one goes back to their hometown in the summer. The concept is based on Japanese culture, in which gifts are carefully wrapped in furoshiki–the traditional Japanese cloth used for wrapping.

The handle is the knot of the furoshiki, and a message card is printed under the additional flap of the package to express the Japanese people’s attention to detail when giving a gift. The texture of the package imitating dyed fabric and the illustration bring a seasonal flavor to stores.

Yin & Yang, the essence of Chinese Philosophy “Tao”, represents the two sides of all things. They are both antagonistic and supportive. It’s relations between human and nature. This design adopts “Tao” related factors to recall people’s awe to nature. Less harm, more protection to the environment.

Taichi diagram and flexible structure box remind us the variability rule of nature. The four animals which relate to Tao represents the four seasons. A corresponding tea is assigned for each season. Just as the warmth of the tea keeps out the cold, people can strike a balance between two opposite things.
